Abstract
The class condition of capitalism changes tremendously along with the capitalist industrialization process, followed by a large number of professional management staff and technical staff, who are known as the emerging Middle-class. The western Marxists strengthen the study on the class structure and form variety theories of the middle-class which challenge the Marxism's class theory. Eric Olin Wright responds actively to the challenge. He puts forward the theory that the emerging middle-class is the contradictory orientation within class relations, which enriches and develops the Marxist theory of class. It is an insightful analysis, which effectively responds to the challenge about Marxism class theory in modern capitalist society. Research on Wright's theory of the middle-class has important theoretical and practical significance.
