Abstract
The color reaction of copper(II) with 2-(2′-Quinolinlazo)-4,5-Dimethylhydroxybenzen(QADMP) was studied. In the presence of pH=4.0 HAc-NaAc buffer solution and CTMAB medium, QADMP reacts with copper (II) to form a stable 2∶1 complex. The molar absorption is 4.56×10~4 L·mol~(-1)·cm~(-1) at 561nm. Beer's law was obeyed copper in water with satisfactory results.
