Abstract
Objective: To study the relation between the level of serum vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and CT imaging in primary hepatic carcinoma(PHC) after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE).Methods: 32 patients of PHC were analyzed,including 28 male cases and 4 female cases.The ages range from 15 ~ 72 years old,and the mean age is(49.53 ± 13.10).All cases underwent TACE once.The early morning fasting ulnar vein blood sample was gathered on the 1stday before TACE and on the 30thday after TACE respectively.The serum was isolated.The VEGF level was detected by using ELISA.Collect the data of epigastrium CT imaging one week before TACE and on the 30thday after TACE.The correlation was analyzed with SPSS13.0 software.Results: The level of VEGF on the 1stday before TACE and on the 30th day after TACE were(520.99 ± 320.61) pg / mL and(316.37 ± 240.67) pg / mL,P = 0.000.The size of tumor in one week before TACE and on the 30th day after TACE were(8.28 ± 3.61) cm,(7.68 ±3.42) cm,respectively,P =0.011.The level of VEGF was positively correlated with the size of tumor not only before TACE but also after TACE.The level of VEGF on metastatic lesion and aniso-staining tumor was higher than non-metastatic lesion and staining uniform tumor before TACE.The level of VEGF on single tumor,non-metastatic lesion and staining uniform tumor was lower than multi-lesion,metastatic lesion and aniso-staining tumor respectively after TACE.There was no difference between the level of VEGF on the location and adventitia of tumor before and after TACE.Conclusion: The level of VEGF was positive correlated with the size of tumor,and was independent with the location and adventitia of tumor before and after TACE.There was no correlation between the level of VEGF and tumor metastasis and staining after TACE.
