Clinical Observations on Treatment of Subhealth with Acupuncture and Moxibustion plus Dorsal Movable Cupping

Objective To explore a simple, easily accepted and effective method for treating subhealth.Methods Sixty-two subhealth university students were allocated to treatment and control groups.The treatment group was treated by acupuncture of bilateral Neiguan(PC 6),Zusanli(ST 36) and Sanyinjiao(SP 6),and Zhongwan(CV 12) and Qihai(CV 6) plus movable cupping on dorsal Governor Vessel and Bladder Meridian of Foot-Yangming.The control group was treated only by acupuncture of bilateral Neiguan,Zusanli and Sanyinjiao,and Zhongwan and Qihai.The therapeutic effects were evaluated in the two groups and statistically compared between them.Results Of the 32 patients of the treatment group,cure occurred in 4 case,marked efficacy in 16 cases,efficacy in 7 cases and inefficacy in 5 cases,with a total efficacy rate of 84.4%.Of the 32 patients of the control group,cure occurred in 1 case,marked efficacy in 13 cases,efficacy in 4 cases and inefficacy in 12 cases,with a total efficacy rate of 60.0%.There was a statistically significant differences in therapeutic effect between the two groups(P0.05).The therapeutic effect was better in the treatment group than in the control group.Conclusion Acupuncture and moxibustion plus dorsal movable cupping has a good therapeutic effect on subhealth in the university students.
