An analysis of cultaual guidance shortage in college English teaching from the perspective of intercultural communication

This article makes an attempt to explore the differences between Chinese culture and western culture, and then discusses one of the faulty practices in presentday college English education in China:the acquisition of linguistic forms is excessively emphasized while cultural guidance is ignored, which leads to language learners' poor understanding of the target culture and hinders them from improving their intercultural communicative competence.Further, some suggestions are put forward in order to promote the level of cross-cultural communication.
