On the Impact of Bai Juyi's Poems on The Tale of Genji

The Tale of Genji is the essence of the Japanese traditional literature, it fully combines the classical Chinese literature and Buddhist thought. Its author, Murasaki Shikibu gave full play to her profundity of Chinese culture, with the well knowledge of how to make use of Chinese poetry in Genji literature. This paper, on the basis of previous researchers, trying to afresh research on several reference cases, through the analysis of these cases, focuses on exploring the features of Chinese poetry introduced to The Tale of Genji and intentions of the author.
