Abstract

Objective The currenthepatitis B(HB)vaccine is prepared with recombinant HB virus surface antigen(HBsAg),which induces effective immune response only in presence of adjuvant.Albumin salt as an adjuvant may enhance the humoral immune effect of HBsAg significantly,but can not induce cellular immune response effectively.Besides albumin salt,some other substances are found to possess the adjuvant effect.This paper reviews the effect of immune stimulating adjuvant,biodegradable particulate materials,microorganism-and plant-derived adjuvant and other types of adjuvant of HB vaccine.
