Abstract

While refrigerant R134a is the working fluid,an unsteady state model for the compression process of a scroll compressor was presented in this paper. It is assumed that there is no leakage across the seal surfaces and the existence of the lubricating oil is neglected. The fourth-order Runge-Kutta method was used to integrate the relative equations for the instantaneous refrigerant states as a function of the orbiting angle. The instantaneous temperature, pressure and volume were obtained. The results indicate that the calculated data are reasonable, and this model can be used to calculate the instantaneous compression process in a scroll compressor.
