Comparison of Growth and Development Index Among Qiang Nationality Pupils and Middle School Students in Mao County from 1985 to 2005

Objective To learn growth and development status and trend of Qiang nationality students,and to provide important basis for constituting physique standard of Qiang nationality students. Methods According to the physique survey standards of Qiang nationality students which formulated by nation and Sichuan province,compared the survey results of 1985 and 2005. Results The weight and height of Qiang nationality students harmonious rapidly increased from 1985 to 2005. Indices such as height,sitting height,weight,circumference,shoulder breadth and pelvis breadth increased obviously during the 20 years,and the differences were significant,especially the indices of height and weight of male and female students. The climax of growth and development of male students advanced from 13 to 12 years old,for female advanced from 13 to 7 years old. The increasing climax of other indices was mainly between 12 and 13 years old. Conclusion Most of the shape indices of Qiang nationality students have increased obviously and rapidly during the 20 years,the growth climax of male and female students moves forward in some age groups.
