Abstract
Intramuscular fat content is one of the most important factors which affect meat quality.Recently, several genes related to porcine intramuscular fat deposition have been characterized to serve a molecular basis for increasing intramuscular fat content and improving pork quality. In this paper, the latest researches on the genes related to porcine intramuscular fat deposition were reviewed and the primary references for further research on these swine functional genes were provided.
