Abstract

Proteolysis in bacterial cells includes processive and non-processive proteolysis. The processive proteolysis shows several regulatory principles at different levels. Proteolysis is mainly responsible to rid the abnormal and misfolded proteins in cells,and the regulation of proteolysis plays an important role during stress responses,cell cycle and development,and even during bacterial infections.
