Abstract

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of therapy of yin-nurishing and blood-activating(YNBA) in treating primary hypertension with hyperactivity of yang due to yin deficiency, and explore its effect on the improvement of quality of life.Methods:Fifty-five patients with primary hypertension of hyperactivity of yang due to yin deficiency were randomly divided into treatment group(n=30) and control group(n=25).Treatment group was treated with routine treatment and YNBA therapy, control group with routine treatment only for three weeks.Blood pressure and improvement of clinical symptoms before and after treatment were observed. Results:After treatment blood pressure significantly decreased in both groups(P0.01),with no significant difference between treatment group and control group(P0.05).Improvement of symptoms in treatment group was superior to that in control group(P0.01).Conclusion: YNBA therapy could improve patients′ symptoms and quality of life.
