The Role of Context Clues in English Listening Practice

Abstract

Listening has an undoubted position in English learning. Context is an indispensable factor to improve the ability of English listening. Context includes linguistic context and situational context, which can not be separated from each other. To have the substantial linguistic knowledge is the base of listening practice, while the relative situational knowledge can make up the disadvantages of linguistic knowledge.
