Abstract
Objective To explore effect of pupil diameter and cycloplegia with cyclopentolate ophthalmic solution by sitting and supine postures in children with myopia. Methods From October to November 2012,30 children(60 eyes) were given cyclopentolate mydriasis on sitting and supine postures. The different diopter values in pupil diameter, auto and retinoscope optometry of the two postures were compared by self matched-pairs method. Results Pupil diameters after mydriatic in supine posture were larger than those in sitting posture. The auto and retinoscope optometry values in supine posture were significantly lower than those in sitting posture(P0.01).Conclusion The effectiveness of cycloplegia with cyclopentolate ophthalmic solution in supine posture is better than that in sitting posture for children with myopia.
