Improved Regional Tourism Carbon Footprint Measure Model and Zhangjiajie Empirical Research

Abstract

Because of lacking of the statistics of the Tourism Satellite Account,the research on carbon footprint in composition method is given priority to others. When using component method to measure the carbon footprint model,more sufficient the consumer items are to be considered,more close to the real carbon emissions the result is. The statistical accuracy of the results depends on the integrity of the ingredients list and the valuation of the various components of the project life cycle. The paper is going to establish the calculation model of the regional tourism Carbon footprint,by using the composition method of cost model and life cycle model. The region tourism Carbon footprint is divided into three parts: Carbon footprint in the tourism development; Carbon footprint in the tourism consumption; Carbon footprint in the tourism waste disposal process. The result of empirical analysis to the Zhangjiajie tourism greenhouse gas emissions shows that Zhangjiajie tourism industry belongs to the low carbon tourism.
