Abstract
[Objective] To understand the characteristics and the change of predominant strains of influenza in a certain area in Shenzhen.[Methods] Data of influenza like illness(ILI) from monitoring sites and viral isolation and outbreaks' information were retrospectively collected for statistical analysis.[Results] Total 63 743 ILI were reported in monitoring sites from 2008 to 2009,which accounted for 8.02% of the all OPD(out-patient clinic) patients, and the average value of ILI% in 2009 was higher than that in 2008(χ2 = 256.09,P﹤0.01).Total 60 influenza outbreaks were reported which mainly occurred between March and August, and schools were the predominant sites for influenza outbreaks.Outbreaks of influenza A and B prevailed in 2008 and 2009 in turn, and significant difference of viral isolation rate of ILI specimen existed between 2008 and 2009.[Conclusion] Influenza A and B prevaile in 2008 and 2009 in turn, and schools are the predominant sites for influenza outbreaks, more attention should be paid on integrated protective measure such as vaccine inoculation before the peak time of influenza outbreaks.
