Abstract
Objective To investigate the chemical constituents of the rhizomes of Smilax bracteata. Methods The compounds were extracted with 60% alcohol and isolated by repeated column chromatography on macroporous adsorptive resins SP825 and silica gel.The compounds obtained were identified on the basis of spectral evidence. Results Five compounds Ⅰ-Ⅴwere identified as: 5,7-dihydroxy-chromone-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside(Ⅰ),resveratrol(Ⅱ),astilbin(Ⅲ),neoisoastilbin(Ⅳ),catechin(Ⅴ),respectively.Conclusion The compounds Ⅰ-Ⅴ are isolated from Smilax bracteata for the first time.
