How Should We Understand the Aesthetic Differences between Chinese and Western Opera

There are some differences between Chinese and western opera.Taking modern western drama as its representative,western opera mainly imitates the object,but Chinese opera mainly presents subjective sense.So the former tends to be true and the latter tends to be beautiful.Generally speaking,the former has a story as its centre,and the plot,character,personalities and feelings of characters developing in the complex story become its subject.However,it is quite different in Chinese opera.The story could be familiar to all the audiences,so the thing makes people to go to the theatre is the excellent performance of actors and actresses.It is not developed around a story,thus forming a quite different performing system from the west.
