Abstract

Soil nutrients spatial variability in 3 natural villages from different grain crop regions of Hubei were studied by using grid sampling,ASI method and GIS techniques. Results showed that:(1) Soil pH values and organic matter content were relatively stable soil properties. In the area studied their spatial variability was rather small and showed almost normal distribution. As the fertilization soil elements, their spatial variability was quite great and showed obviously negative distribution.(2)The spatial variability of the fertilization elements(soil available P,K and Zn) was mainly influenced by random factors, such as crop type and fertilization levels.Paddy soils were more easily deficient in available P,K and Zn.
