Abstract

In the development of the civilization of five-colors,some thinkers represented by Lao Zi and Zhuang zi strongly criticized it.They extolled xuan hei(black and dark) and su bai(pure and white) and regarded them as the highest philosophical category,Dao or tian xing(the nature of heaven),on which a unique ideal social model was formed.The Daoism derived from Daoists had materialized the pursuit for the sphere of xuan and su by Lao Zi and Zhuang Zi into the fantasyland teemed with the image of xuan and su.
