Abstract
Three kinds of heavy metals of Pb,Cd and Hg in 4 layers of the sediment from Chenhang Reservoir were investigated. The results showed that the contents of the three kinds of heavy metals in the sediment were decreased with the increase of depth. From the spatial distribution, the contents of heavy metals near the inlet of the reservoir were slightly lower, and those near the edge of the southern reservoir and in the corner area were slightly higher. The heavy metals in the sediment from Chenhang Reservoir were evaluated by the geological acumination index( Igeo),potential ecological risk index( PERI) and sediment quality guidelines( SQGs). Based on the pollution level and ecological risk from lower to higher, the sequence of the three kinds of heavy metals was Pb Cd Hg. The overall pollution level was slight, which had little impact on water quality.
