Abstract
Reef Rock mass generally are isolated islands with all sides face to the sea,and influenced by tidal action frequently.Based on engineering geological characteristics of reef rock mass,we choose rock mechanical properties, characteristics of discontinuities, rock mass structure types, weathering conditions and groundwater conditions as classification control factors, and use uniaxial saturated compressive strength Rs,rock mass integrality coefficient Kv,rock quality designation index(RQD) or Rock Block Index(RBI),weathering degree coefficient KY and groundwater affect coefficient U to quantify the classification factors respectively. The results show the indexes mentioned above can reflect the difference of rock mass classification satisfactorily.
