Abstract

To select and breed superior clones of Camellia oleifera which could be planted in a large scale in Yuping,Guizhou province, path and cluster analyses of fruit traits on 47 Camellia oleifera clones were be done in this study. The results showed that fruit number and fresh seed mass had directly positive impact on dry seed mass, and resh fruit yield had significantly indirectly positive impact on dry seed mass.Dry seed oil content was largely positively impacted by fresh seed mass. Oil yield per plant was positively impacted by fresh fruit yield, fruit number and dry seed mass directly, and significantly impacted by fresh seed mass indirectly. Germplasm of Camellia oleifera in Yuping could be divided into two categories, and the two categories both could be divided into three sub-types. According to dry seed oil content, these subtypes could be divided into small groups. This showed that dry seed oil content was the most important category trait in the fruit phenotypic traits of Camellia oleifera.
