Abstract

Objective To summarize complications of knee arthroscopic surgery and the prevention and treatment for the complications. Methods A retrospective study on complications in 200 cases of knee arthroscopy between May 2000 and May 2007 was made. Results The incidence of complications was 8.50%(17/200).Major complications occurred in 13 cases, including 3 cases of articular cartilage injury,2 cases of adhesion,4 cases of articular hematoma and 4 cases of articular dropsy. And some minor complications happened in 4 cases, including 2 cases of disruption and exudation of wound and 2 cases of irrigation leakage. Conclusion The incidence of complications of knee arthroscopy is relatively low. Most of them are mild and curable,if prompt treatment is given.
