Abstract
The experimental research performed on twenty-one specimens of short steel tubular columns filled with concrete under axial compression is reported. Eighteen specimens of steel tube are filled with high-strength concrete and three specimens are normal concrete-filled steel tubes. The main parameter of specimens is confinement coefficient. Research result shows that the radial deformation of steel tube has influence on the ultimate bearing capacity of steel tube filled with high-strength concrete, when the confinement coefficient is small.
