The Structural Feature and Optimization on the System of Cities and Towns in Northern and Eastern Hunan

The system of cities and towns is a space system made up of a group of cities and towns which have different scales and characteristics,relating to each other and taking some central cities as their core.This paper reveals the structure feature of the system of cities and towns in northern and eastern Hunan by analyzing their level,grade function and space distribution.Based on these analyses,the paper probes into the train of thought and countermeasures on the optimization of the system of cities and towns in northern and eastern Hunan.
