Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of triple needling plus along-meridian syndrome differentiation in treating lumbar intervertebral disc herniation. Methods One hundred and six patients with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation were randomly allocated to a treatment group of 55 cases receiving triple needling plus distant needling based on along-meridian syndrome differentiation and a control group of 51 cases receiving routine treatment. The pre-/post-treatment signs and the clinical therapeutic effects on the pain were compared. Results The total efficacy rate and the cure and marked efficacy rate were 98.2% and 81.8%,respectively,in the treatment group and 84.3% and 52.9%,respectively,in the control group. There were statistically significant differences between the two groups(P0.05,P0.01).Conclusion Triple needling plus distant needling based on along-meridian syndrome differentiation can improve the therapeutic effect.
