Abstract
The composites of the in-situ growth mullite strengthening anorthite were prepared by the one-step solid phase reaction using the main materials such as Kaolin and aluminium hydroxide. The phase and microstructure were analysized by X-ray diffraction pattern and scanning electron microscopy. Results showed that composition ratios of anorthite/mullite were very important factors to microstructure of the composites. When anorthite/mullite is 70∶ 30,the bending strength of the composites is 107-123.9 MPa at the firing temperature of 1400-1420 ℃.The bending strength of the composites could be increased up to 1.5-2 times than the pure anorthite ceramic.
