Abstract
Now there are a lot of obstacles such as economy convergence, politics, the Nth kind of currency problem and the lack of a common currency organization based on the Theory of Optimum in East Asia. We think that it is impossible to compose of an optimum currency area in East Asia. The policy recommendation with East Asian currency cooperation is that we should advance the process of currency integration in East Asia step by step. Various countries or regions in East Asia should strengthen the regional exchange rate policy, build some sub - region currency areas, set up the common currency area in East Asia finally.
