Abstract
Objective To analyze the etiological and epidemiological characteristics of infectious diarrhea (other than cholera, dysentery, typhoid and paratyphoid) in Longhua of Shenzhen in 2008,and provides scientific evidence for the development of prevention and control measures. Methods The descriptive analysis was conducted on the data of 390 cases of infectious diarrhea in Longhua in 2008. Results The incidence rate of other infectious diarrhea was 57.09/105,the rate among males was 78.90/105,and among females was 37.06/100 000. The rate among children was 611.70/105 and among adult was 16.34/105.Most child cases (96.50%) were the children living separately, the majority of adult cases (54.81%) were workers. Other infectious diarrhea mainly occurred during October-December. Among all other infectious diarrhea cases, rotavirus infection rate was 87.2%,the difference on the infection rate between children and adults was significant. (χ2=21.91,P=0.000). Conclusion Other infectious diarrhea mainly affected the children less than 15 years old (especially the children living separately). Autumn to winter was the peak period of the incidence. Rotavirus was the major pathogen of other infectious diarrhea.
