Abstract

Potassium chloride, sodium chloride and sodium sulfate were used as accelerants in the dyeing of cotton with C.I.Reactive Yellow 84 respectively. The results showed that the accelerating effect of potassium chloride was superior than the others.Several series were complexed with these salts, and one salt was contained in each series as a main ingredient and changed from 50% to 90% in weight. It was found that the accelerating effect of the series of complexes mainly containing potassium chloride was better than that of the other series, and it was enhanced as the amount of potassium chloride was increased. Moreover,it reached the best when the potassium chloride was 80% in weight. This results showed the several salts could co-accelerate the dyeing. Also, the accelerating effect of complexes with the optimum salt ratio was better than the effects resulted from the single salt.
