Abstract

The extraction of natural dye from dry leaves of camphortree and the dyeing on silk fabrics with extracts were studied.Factors exerting influence on extraction results such as NaOH concentration, extraction temperature, extraction time, material ratio and factors exerting influence on dyeing results on silk fabrics including dyeing pH,dyeing temperature, dyeing time,Na2SO4 concentration were discussed. It was found that the optimum extraction conditions were NaOH 0.20?mol/L,extraction at 100?℃ for 50min,material ratio 1∶40.The optimum conditions for the dyeing on silk fabrics were pH value 3.50,dyeing at 90?℃ for 60?min,bath ratio 50∶1.Furthermore,the dyed silk fabrics with alkaline extracts had indefinite fastness properties and that the washing fastnesses and colour fastness could be improved by mordanting.
