Abstract

Through the methods of geostatistics and joint multifractal, the spatial variability of steady infiltration rate and 120 min cumulative infiltration, and the multi-scale correlation between 120 min cumulative infiltration and the various soil properties in first terraces and third terraces in Yangling were analyzed. The results showed that in first terrace, spatial heterogeneity ratios of the steady infiltration rate to120 min cumulative infiltration were 0.175 and 0.245 respectively, and the correlation coefficients between120 min cumulative infiltration and initial soil water content, bulk density and the coarse silt content were all high.In third terrace, the spatial heterogeneity ratios of the steady infiltration rate to 120 min cumulative infiltration were 0.243 and 0.288 respectively, the correlation coefficient of 120 min cumulative infiltration and bulk density was-0.773,and the degree of multi-scale correlations between 120 min cumulative infiltration and the rest of soil properties were all weak. The different soil textures might cause the different spatial variability of steady infiltration rate on a single scale.
