Abstract

Mortars separated from the waste concrete were used to produce Portland cements, which were the high alite cement(HAC),the ordinary Portland cement(OPC) and the high belite cement(HBC) respectively. The mass of free CaO was determined by glycol method and the mineral compositions of clinkers were affirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD).The setting time, volume stability, specific surface area, compressive strength and the image of the hydration of the three kinds cement were tested. The mechanism of production of cement from waste mortar was proposed. The test result show that, compared to the reference cement, the three cements produced from waste mortar can meet the standard for portland cement. In addition, the method can save resource and energy in the produce process.
