Abstract
Based on the oscillation response theory of free-standing equipment, the initial condition for occurrence of oscillation and the critical condition for falling down of free-standing equipment under seismic excitations are analyzed. The calculation method for seismic oscillation response analysis is presented. The differential equation of oscillation of free-standing equipment under seismic excitations is resolved by Runge-Kutta algorithm, the software is developed, and the reliability of the software is validated by numerical illustrations. The oscillation response characteristics of free-standing equipment are investigated by using the developed software, and the oscillation response time history and some reasonable results of free-standing equipment under seismic excitations are also obtained.
