Abstract
The microscopic, chemical and trace element characteristics of pyrite in the Longtoushan gold deposit, Guangxi has been discussed in this article. The close relationship of pyrite with gold metallization has also been stated. Not only the pyrite color, crystal grain cracking by stress, being substituted by other minerals and oxidation of pyrite but also bismuth has a relation with gold metallization, through which the gold metallization was formed in different periods and different stages. The ratios of Co/Ni of pyrite are all 1, Arsenic content is usually high in pyrite and the average is 863×10~(-6),all the Fe/S ratio is 0.871 and it is somewhat lack of iron. Gold grade tends to be increaseing with the Fe/S value. The atom ratio of S and Fe is a little larger than 2∶1. Gold grade reduces with the increasing of S/Fe atom ratio. Statistic result of the polished sections shows that individual gold minerals occupy 73.57% and the gold minerals included in pyrite occupy 26.43% This embedded distribution is beneficial for recovery.
