Abstract
Objective To study the extract of Cynanchum paniculatum(CP) on the inflammation, and toxicity induced by Naja atra(NA) venom. Methods (1)Acute inflammatory model was induced by injecting venom into rat paw. (2)Chronic inflammatory model was induced by implanting cotton pellet macerated with NA venom into rat inguinal subcutaneous. (3)The effect of the CP extract on the venom toxicity was observed. Results (1)The edema of rat paw and the formation of cotton\|granuloma were significantly diminished by CP extract in dose 5, 10, 15 g/kg(ig)×7 d. (2)CP extract diminished the death rate of mice. Conclusion CP extract possessed antitoxic effect of NA venom on the inflammation of rats and diminished the general toxicity of venom.
