Abstract

In the paper,the volatile oil of thyme was extracted by steam distillation,GC-MS was used to analyze and identify the chemical components of the volatile oil,30compounds were identified which accounts for 98.92%,The major chemical constituent of the volatile oil are thymol(15.64%),Carvacrol(13.27%),Borneol(12.86%),camphene(8.07%),eucalyptol(6.22%),α-Pinene(5.35%).This method is simple and reliable with good reproducibility.
