Abstract
According to characteristics of grassland ecosystem and its functional processes, the grassland ecosystem could be classified by five principles, which are the feature of biome, the features of inorganic environment, important functional processes, the dynamic characteristics, and to combine with biotic community as far as possible. Depend on the five grades classification system, land ecosystem type - grassland ecosystem class - ecosystem order - ecosystem genus - ecosystem plexus, the grassland ecosystem of China is classified temperately as seven grassland ecosystem orders, 19 grassland, and 130 grassland ecosystem plexuses.
