Abstract
Objective To Know the epidemiological characteristics of measles and the current status of Measles Surveillance System(MSS).Methods We analyzed and evaluated the data of measles surveillance and measles vaccine immunization in 2005-2006.Results 247 suspected cases were reported by MSS from 2005-2006,higher than 218 reported cases from national Notified Disease Reporting System.152 were confirmed cases. The incidence peak of measles remained in late Spring and early Summer. The measles timely reporting rate, timely investigating rate and qualified serum sample collection rate are 69.44%,and 78.29%.During 2005-2006,were vaccinated in routine and annually reported coverage was above 90%.Conclusion MV immunization correctly is the key point in measles control.Strengthening the measles surveillance and improving the quality are the key measures to accelerate measles control. In addition, the rate of rubella vaccine coverage should be increaced.
