Abstract
The optimum conditions for the ultrasound-assisted extraction of crude flavonoids from sesame leaves were determined.A orthogonal experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of four independent variables, namely ethanol concentration, the solid to liquid ratio, extraction time and ultrasonic power on yield of flavonoids. The optimum extraction conditions were: ethanol concentration 80%,the solid to liquid ratio 1∶20,extraction time 30 min, ultrasonic power 350 W.Under the optimum conditions, the extraction yield of flavonoids was 93.8%.
