Abstract
It isn’t just like the Western sociologist speaking that the urbanism of modern city is decided by the structure of urban space and population characteristics. It is the economic characteristics of modern city th at decide the urbanism of modern city. Modern city is the result of urbanization and industrialization, so its economic characteristic is modern market economy. Therefore, the main characteristics of modern city are of the following aspects :the right, citizenship, legal system, diversity and openness.
