Abstract

Liang Qi-chao once stated his opinions in his book.The Generality of Qing literature that the contribution which the salt merchants in Huaihe River Area brought to the Qing literature under the reign of Qianlong and Jiaqing Emperors can be equivalent to the Southern European rich families of European Renaissance.The merchants have effected not only on the economy in Yangzhou but also the regional culture,gardening,education,food culture and so on.
