Abstract

Lamotrigine is one of the most commonly used anti-epilepsy drugs(AED).The European experts'consensus 2007,the China epilepsy diagnosis and treatment guideline,the American Academy of Neurology,and the American Epilepsy Society recommended lamotrigine as the first line AED for refractory partial seizures,adults and children primary generalized epilepsy,children and adolescents absence seizures and juvenile myoclonic epilepsy.The current literature about the tolerance and safety of lamotrigine in all kinds of epilepsy were reviewed and summarized in the aspects of cognition,endocrine,sexual function,body weight and neuropsychological function.
