Strengthening the Education of Professional Ethics in Colleges and Universities Is an Urgent Task——An Investigation of the Education of Professional Ethics in Colleges and Universities

On the basis of the analysis of the current situation of professional ethics education in seventy colleges and universities, the author finds out that the professional ethics education in higher learning institutions is rather weak. Though good professional ethics education is maintained for the medical specialty of some colleges and universities, there exists a tendency of marginalization of professional ethics education in the traditional pedagogic specialty and a trend of desertification of professional ethics education in the other specialties. In view of such situation that is unfit for the development of the modern society, the article suggests that measures such as offering some required courses of professional ethics education and some colorful optional courses of humanities related to professions should be adopted.
