Abstract
Good environment in tunneling operation is important for ensuring tunnel works quality, increasing construction efficiency, and protecting the health of construction workers. In regards to the water diversion tunnel works of Jiping II hydropower station, the hydrogeological conditions are complicated and characterized by thick buried depth, large diameter and long tunnel alignment. In view of the particular construction environment, the west-end water diversion tunnel has to be constructed by the drill and blast method, and flexible transport. To improve tunneling environment, the construction company implemented the blowing and lane-type ventilation solution so that a good operation environment was provided for normal construction of the west-end water diversion tunnel.
