Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effectiveness of interventional radiology in treating late postpartum hemorrhage.Methods:120 cases with late postpartum hemorrhage hospitalized in Tongji hospital from Jan 1,1985 to Jun 30,2002 were enrolled in this study,among which 29 cases were treated with interventional radiology.Results:In 27 of 29 cases the bleeding had ceased completely,while 2 cases had hysterectomy because of the severe infection of uterine incision.Conclusion:With very short procedure time and few complications,interventional radiology is proved to be a very effective treatment for severe postpartum hemorrhage.
