Comment on the Educational Development Concept of Giving Priority to Efficiency with Due Consideration to Equality

The educational development concept of giving priority to efficiency with due consideration to equality has been derived from the similar principle for China's economic development during the transition from planned economy to market economy.This concept,when first practiced,rapidly promoted the educational development in a certain period,showing special historical value and much positive effect.But as the reform and opening-up was further deepened,it began to have negative effect on China's educational development and showed its limitations.Therefore,in the new era,measures must be taken to keep a good balance and coordination between equality and efficiency so as to construct a harmonious society and to develop education scientifically.
