Abstract
Objective To investigate the apoptosis of human liver cancer Bel-7402 cell line induced by curcumin in vetro. Methods The cells were treated in vetro with curcumin 10μmol/L for 48h.Inhibiting effect of cell proliferation was detected with MTT assay, cell apoptosis was analyzed by flowcytometry, and the expressions of Bcl-2 and Bax mRNA were detected by RT-PCR.ResultsAfter treated by curcumin for 48 h,the cell proliferation was inhibited in time-and dose-dependent manner. As the concentration of curcumin increased, the apoptosis rate of the cells increased, expression of Bax mRNA up-regulated and that of Bcl-2 mRNA down-regulated.ConclusionCurcumin inhibits cell proliferation and enhances cell apoptosis, which may be related to up-regulating Bax mRNA expression and down-regulating Bcl-2 mRNA expression.
