The effects comparison of FK506 and CsA on serum lipids in renal allograft recipients

Objective:Objectives: To compare the effects between tacrolimus (FK506) and cyclosporin(CsA) on serum lipids after renal transplantation.Methods:There were 209 renal recipients involved in this study, among which 116 on CsA treatment and 93 on tacrolimus treatment. Main follow-up time was three month, six month and one year after operation. Chi-square test was used during statistical analysis.Results:No significant difference of the serum lipids mean levels was found between two groups before operation. The percentage of patients with hyperlipidemia in CsA group was significantly higher than that in FK506 group in the three-month, six-month and one-year follow-up. Moreover, there are staring difference among various time in CsA group.Conclusions:FK506 may be superior to CsA with respect to its effect on serum lipids.
